Sinigang na Baboy (Pork in Sour Broth)

Sinigang na Baboy or Pork in Sour Broth is a very popular Filipino dish. The soup can be cooked with actual tamarind, but I actually havent made it that way, commonly even back home we cook it with its star ingredient, the SINIGANG MIX, the tamarind mix.

FYI, depending on your preference, you actually can choose either pork, shrimps, milk fish and a personal fave salmon on the sinigang… So below are the ingredients and and how to cook it.

PREP TIME: 15 minutes

SERVES: 4-5 people

COOKING TIME: 65 minutes

Step 1: Put a pot of water with the tomato and red onion to a boil and add the pork. Let boil for 30-40 minutes. (enough water to submerge the cubed pork)

Step 2: Add the taro and boil for another 15 minutes.

Step 3: Add the rest of the vegetables (apart from the kang-kong ) and the sinigang mix. Let it boil for another 7-10 minutes.

Step 4: Add the kang-kong, cover the pot and turn off the heat.

Serve hot with steamed rice and a fish sauce dip. Enjoy!
